Accenture Beats on Revenue, Matches Expectations on EPS
Accenture (NYS: ACN) reported earnings on Sep. 27. Here are the numbers you need to know.

For the quarter ended Aug. 31 (Q4), Accenture beat slightly on revenues and met expectations on earnings per share.
Compared to the prior-year quarter, revenue grew slightly and GAAP earnings per share dropped.
Gross margins dropped, operating margins were steady, net margins dropped.
Accenture booked revenue of $6.84 billion. The 20 analysts polled by S&P Capital IQ foresaw revenue of $6.75 billion on the same basis. GAAP reported sales were 2.2% higher than the prior-year quarter's $6.69 billion.

EPS came in at $0.88. The 21 earnings estimates compiled by S&P Capital IQ forecast $0.87 per share. GAAP EPS of $0.88 for Q4 were 3.3% lower than the prior-year quarter's $0.91 per share.

For the quarter, gross margin was 32.9%, 20 basis points worse than the prior-year quarter. Operating margin was 13.8%, about the same as the prior-year quarter. Net margin was 8.5%, 70 basis points worse than the prior-year quarter.
Next quarter's average estimate for revenue is $7.30 billion. On the bottom line, the average EPS estimate is $1.04.
