Pioneer Trail Leatherworks: Everything you need to know

Updated

The recent Cattle Drive in Pioneer Trail has stripped your Homestead of all of its leather, so you'll need to build a new Leatherworks to help refill the supply. This Leatherworks building is available for players that have reached at least Level 25, and it comes with plenty of new boosts that you can craft to help yourself out around the Homestead. We're here with a look at these new boosts, and the goals you'll need to complete to earn them, straight from Zynga.

New Boosts

Quicksilver Boots - Move Twice as Fast for 1 Hour
Rawhide Gloves - Move Fully Grown Trees for 1 Hour
Bullwhip - Move Varmints for 1 Hour
Training Saddle - Make "Ridable" Horses Ready Again
Calf Lead - Make Cows Ready Again
Ox Harness - Make Oxen Ready Again
Halter Bridle - Make "Non-Ridable" Horses Ready Again

Goals

Building a Leatherworks

  • Place the Leatherworks

  • Clear 3 Stumps on your Homestead

  • Tend 30 Adult Cows

Rewards: 500 XP, Cream Cow, three Hide Prepping Stations (crop)

Practice Makes Perfect

  • Harvest 30 Corn

  • Collect 8 Flint Knives from Friends

  • Finish Phase 1 of the Leatherworks

Rewards: 1,000 XP, Quicksilver Boots boost, six Hide Prepping Stations

Buckaroo Blisters

  • Gather 10 Busted Boots

  • Collect 15 Leather Aprons

  • Finish Phase 2 of the Leatherworks

Busted Boots are earned at random when tending Adult Chickens, while the Leather Aprons simply come from friends. You'll receive 1,500 XP, a Red Deer and a Bullwhip boost for completing this goal.

Being Neighborly

  • Get 12 Damaged Leather Gear

  • Craft 4 Ox Harnesses

  • Finish Phase 3 of the Leatherworks

The Damaged Leather Gear is unique, in that you'll need to tend Adult Cows on your neighbors' Homesteads to earn them, rather than your own. Meanwhile, the Ox Harnesses are crafted using Refined Leather (crafted using Prepped Pelts and Tanning Lime) and Harness Forms (ask friends). You'll receive 2,000 XP, two Fully Grown Willow Trees and the Rawhide Gloves boost for completing this goal.

Varmint Vengeance

  • Gather 10 Shredded Gloves

  • Craft 3 Bullwhip Boosts

  • Finish the Leatherworks

Shredded Gloves are earned from tending Non-Ridable Horses on your Homestead, while the Bullwhip Boosts can be crafted using Refined Leather, Leather Scissors (ask friends) and Braided Poppers (ask friends). This is a complex crafting project, so you'll actually need to craft some ingredients before you can ever create the finished product, but with enough help from friends you should be able to finish this off.

While these goals might introduce you to these new boosts, the overall purpose of the Leatherworks is simply to give you a place to create more of them. It's likely that we'll be given an opportunity to store this building at some point in the future, while still retaining that crafting ability, and we'll make sure to let you know if that ends up happening. Stay tuned!
