U.S. Bank is One of the Best Banks in America According to Money Magazine
MINNEAPOLIS--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Money magazine has named U.S. Bank the best national bank in America for its basic checking and savings, student checking and senior checking accounts. The "Best Banks in America" story is in the October 2012 issue of Money.
Money credited U.S. Bank's broad retail banking network - fourth-largest in the country - combined with how easy it is for U.S. Bank customers to waive the monthly maintenance fee. The magazine also credited U.S. Bank for offering advanced features such as the ability for customers to deposit a check from their mobile phone or tablet.
U.S. Bank also topped Money's charts for student and senior checking. The magazine noted that student checking accounts have no monthly maintenance fees, robust mobile banking and a large ATM network, which they weighted heavier for the student category because students rely heavily on the ATM. U.S. Bank's senior checking earned top honors because seniors have U.S. Bank's Premium checking account with no monthly maintenance fees, no fees for using another bank's ATM, and free money orders, free cashier's checks and a discount on safe deposit boxes.

This is the second year in a row that U.S. Bank earned top honors from Money for its basic checking account.
