  • Dell SonicWALL expands reach and delivery of curriculum; introduces Certified SonicWALL Security Professional (CSSP) certification

SAN JOSE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Dell SonicWALL today announced the introduction of its Network Security Advanced Administration class (NSAA) together with a new level of technical certification, the Certified SonicWALL Security Professional (CSSP). Both offerings give students the opportunity to increase their technical proficiency and strengthen their qualifications to stay on top of the latest cybersecurity threats and trends.

Dell™ SonicWALL™, part of the Dell Software organization, currently offers a certification program for its Unified Threat Management (UTM) / Next-Generation Firewall (NGFW) platforms in partnership with Dell SonicWALL Authorized Training Partners, including Global Knowledge, a leading provider of IT education and certification training. The NSAA course gives network security professionals the background, knowledge and hands-on experience to design, implement and troubleshoot Dell SonicWALL security appliances running SonicOS firmware. The course includes training on the latest next-generation firewall features, including application intelligence and control, bandwidth management, and enterprise-class scaling and reliability.

Knowledge checks and hands-on exercises are incorporated throughout the course to reinforce and test new skill sets. The two-day class is offered on-site at partner locations where students test and demonstrate new product features with an NSA 220 appliance. The course finishes with the exam to obtain the Certified SonicWALL Security Professional (CSSP) credential. The certification is awarded to individuals for advanced expertise with Dell SonicWALL next-generation firewalls products. CSSP certified professionals know how to deploy, optimize and troubleshoot all associated product features.

The CSSP certification class builds on knowledge gained in the Network Security Basic Administration class, which confers the Certified SonicWALL System Administrator (CSSA) credential. The CSSA is a prerequisite for the CSSP.

The course is only offered in an instructor-led capacity and employs extensive hands-on lab time to reinforce key concepts covered during the lecture portion of the class. All students who attended the program said they would recommend it to a co-worker, proving that the course is not only challenging, but also highly informational and effective in conveying the course materials.
