VANCOUVER, British Columbia--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Hill+Knowlton Strategies (H+K), Canada's No. 1-rated public relations and public affairs firm, is pleased to welcome veteran communications practitioner David Climie to its Vancouver office as its new vice-president of communications.

With more than 20 years of experience in financial communications, media relations, public affairs, issues management and business development, David brings a wealth of knowledge from his experience in energy, technology, and industrial equipment.

David Climie will provide high-level strategic counsel on corporate and financial communications and issues management to a wide range of BC-based and national clients.

Prior to joining H+K, David was the vice-president of corporate communications and investor relations at QLT Inc., a biotech company focused on ocular therapies. He is also the former vice-president of corporate communications and investor relations at PMC-Sierra, a global semiconductor company. David also worked in communications, investor relations and corporate affairs roles for Finning International and Westcoast Energy Inc.

David holds a bachelor of commerce degree from the University of British Columbia and a master of arts degree in journalism and communications from the University of Western Ontario. Active in British Columbia's business and policy communities, David is a member of the communications committee for the BC Business Council and a member of the policy and advocate committee for LifeSciences BC. He is also a member of the Board of Directors of the UBC Alumni Association.
