Cintas Earns the Carpet and Rug Institute's Platinum Seal of Approval for Superior Deep Cleaning Systems

CINCINNATI--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- TheCintas Corporation (NAS: CTAS) today announced that it has earned the widely recognized Carpet and Rug Institute (CRI) Platinum Seal of Approval for its carpet deep cleaning system. The recognition confirms that Cintas' system meets the highest standards for carpet cleaning effectiveness.

"We applaud CRI for creating such rigorous guidelines for their Seal of Approval program," said Fred Wehby, Senior Director of Deep Clean Services, Cintas. "The Seal of Approval demonstrates our focus on customer satisfaction and constant innovation in carpet care."

The Cintas deep cleaning program uses a four-step process to effectively deep clean, sanitize and revitalize carpeting in any type of facility. Its combination of high-pressure steam, agitation, heat and extraction removes more dry particulate soil than any other method, helping delay expensive replacement costs and revitalizing carpets to a like-new condition. Carpets also dry quicker through Cintas' Fast Dry extraction method which diminishes drying time to just a few hours and thoroughly removes any residue left behind by previous cleaning methods. This comprehensive system is performed with advanced cleaning tools and chemicals by trained Cintas professionals.

The system qualified for the Seal of Approval by passing eight rigorous tests at an independent laboratory that measures performance in critical areas such as soil removal efficacy, propensity for resoiling, appearance retention, residual moisture, and ensuring that cleaning agents do not adversely affect the carpet's life expectancy (i.e. surface change after repeated cleaning, colorfastness, amount of pH, and zero presence of optical brighteners).

The CRI Seal of Approval for Deep Cleaning Systems evaluates the effectiveness of the overall deep cleaning process and includes testing of equipment and solutions. The approval program monitors and ensures that processes using a specific machine and cleaning agent follow the manufacturer's recommended procedure. This latest product category joins CRI's successful Seal of Approval testing programs established for deep cleaning extractors, spot removers, vacuum cleaners and pre-spray/in-tank solutions.

"We are proud to designate Cintas' deep cleaning system with our highest Seal of Approval," said Werner Braun, President, CRI. "Their four-step system demonstrated its quality and effectiveness throughout our rigorous testing process."

"Deep cleaning is an essential component of carpet maintenance," added Wehby. "An effective carpet program will improve appearance, prolong costly replacements and increase overall cleanliness."
