  • Also, EMCOR employees and clients will wear EMCOR Pink Hard Hats and form massive Human Pink ribbons, EMCOR's "signature" event, creating powerful visual "Calls to Action".

  • Additionally, EMCOR's fleet of 6,000 service vehicles will display Pink Hard Hat "Protect Yourself. Get Screened Today." posters.

The 4th largest human pink ribbon ever formed in the U.S. will be created this year as part of EMCOR's program when, on October 4th, 400+ construction workers and employees of EMCOR's Marelich Mechanical subsidiary and client Kaiser Permanente will don Pink Hard Hats, at the construction site of Kaiser Permanente's new medical center in San Leandro, California. Additionally, for the first time to occur on a large construction site, all the workers at that site will wear Pink Hard Hats throughout October as an ongoing reminder to the community of the importance of breast cancer screening.

EMCOR Human Pink Hard Hat ribbon events in 2012 will also include the following clients and locations:

  • Yale Cancer Center, New Haven, Connecticut

  • GE Aircraft, Durham, North Carolina

Tony Guzzi, President & CEO of EMCOR, commented, "We're proud to have made breast cancer awareness a part of EMCOR's culture; the momentum builds each year. Thousands of our employees wear EMCOR Pink Hard Hats, challenging the 'macho' image of the construction industry and showing support for family, friends, colleagues, and clients who have been and could be affected by breast cancer. At EMCOR, the majority of our field employees wear a hard hat on a daily basis for personal protection, and we are proud of their commitment to wear a Pink Hard Hat during this important month to help continue awareness of this disease that affects so many lives---and the importance of breast cancer screening."
