Samsung adds iPhone 5 to lawsuits against Apple
Samsung has announced that it will add Apple's (NAS: AAPL) iPhone 5 to its U.S. patent lawsuits against the technology behemoth, Reuters reported this morning.
"Based on information currently available, Samsung expects that the iPhone 5 will infringe the asserted Samsung patents-in-suit in the same way as the other accused iPhone models," Reuters quoted Samsung as saying in a court filing.
Nike launches $8 billion repurchase program
Nike's (NYS: NKE) board of directors has approved a plan to buy back $8 billion in common stock, The Associated Press reported today. The company is already participating in a $5 billion repurchase program, which will be complete in Nike's second quarter; the new program will begin after the current one ends.
Starbucks announces single-serve coffeemaker
Starbucks (NAS: SBUX) has begun its foray into the single-cup coffeemaker space with the Verismo, The New York Times reported today. The machine will also allow its users to infuse their coffee with real milk, using a "milk pod" also developed by Starbucks, the Times reports.
"There's no other single-cup machine that makes a latte with fresh milk just like we make it in our stores," the Times quoted CEO Howard Schultz as saying.
