Regal Entertainment Group Presents the World Exclusive Extended First Look at Universal Pictures' Les Misérables
KNOXVILLE, Tenn.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Regal Entertainment Group (NYS: RGC) , a leading motion picture exhibitor owning and operating the largest theatre circuit in the United States, announced today another first for the company's interactive strategy and in-theatre programming. During production of the musical epic that opens December 25, the cast performed every take of every song live while filming, rather than lip synching to pre-recorded tracks, which is customary with most musicals films. This methodology, championed by the filmmakers, allowed the actors the freedom to adapt their performances and granted them enhanced emotional immediacy.
Regal is now hosting the exclusive content online, and beginning Friday, September 21, this exclusive behind-the-scenes footage will be seen on the big screen before every movie playing at Regal Entertainment Group theatres across the country. The film's Hugh Jackman (Jean Valjean) introduces the in-theatre segment to explain to audiences how this creative process is so unique.
