Hasbro transforms FarmVille, CityVille and more into board games
And these social game-board game amalgamations are headed your way this October. Zynga and Hasbro have revealed a series of board games and plush toys based on the FarmVille house's most popular Facebook and mobile games. Frankly, they just fit. A FarmVille adaptation of the iconic Hungry Hippos? A Draw Something-themed, Pictionary-style game? It just works.
More specifically, FarmVille will see two physical adaptations, the first being FarmVille Hungry Hungry Herd. For $22.99, players will take the reigns of one of FarmVille's most popular animals and chomp away at marbles to gobble up the most. The second is simply titled FarmVille Animals, which is a series of three FarmVille-themed plush toys that each come with a classic card game inside as well as a voucher for 20 Farm Cash--all for $10.

CityVille is officially the first Facebook game to get its very own version of Monopoly. For $25, players will get to play the classic game of real estate, but with a twist that allows players to build out a city in the center of the board. Of course, the game also comes with 85 City Cash for use in CityVille proper. CityVille Skies, however, is an iPad-meets-board game due for release this December that lets players soar above a bustling CityVille metropolis to complete quests.
As for Words With Friends and Draw Something, each board isn't a far cry from how they play out on mobile devices. The former comes in the three different versions: a basic set for $20, a deluxe set for $40 and a travel set for $15. The latter will come in a single package for $20 that allows players to draw and guess predetermined objects and items. The money-printing machine just got a shiny new engine.
