S&P Capital IQ Initiates Coverage on Beamz Interactive Inc. in Standard & Poor's Factual Stock Reports

NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- S&P Capital IQ announced today that it has commenced Standard & Poor's Factual Stock Report coverage on Beamz Interactive Inc.

Beamz Interactive, Inc. (OTCQB: BZIC) is a developer and marketer of interactive laser controller products and technology for a wide variety of music, game, therapy, education and consumer markets. The company's first commercial products, Beamz Player and Beamz Pro, enabled users to interact with music in a new way. By connecting the Beamz Player to a PC computer and installing the included software, the user could ''play'' a wide range of digitized musical instruments by interrupting one or more laser beams with one's hands, thereby creating music in conjunction with a background rhythm track from songs across numerous music genres.

The Beamz controller is fully programmable and in many ways is similar to a synthesizer, only without the requirement of keyboard dexterity. The Beamz Player allows people with no musical background or training to play and enjoy music within minutes. The Beamz Pro product line offers enough depth to enable accomplished DJs, artists and musicians to perform, compose and create interactive music. The technology was developed in 2008-2009, and a second-generation product was commercialized in late 2010. This new product was formally launched at both the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) and the NAMM Music Industry Show in January 2011. The product was chosen as one of top five coolest products at CES by Billboard.com and one of the Best of CES by Leo LePorte on Regis and Kelley.

BZIC has developed relationships with partners and distributors to further its strategic goals. The company has partnered with Cypher Entertainment to develop a smart phone version of the Beamz Player. Relationships with dealers and retailers include Amazon, various musical instrument dealers, FAO Schwarz, and Light Parties (NLFX). The company works with a special needs OEM partner, PlayAbility Toys, as well as an education distributor, Douglas Stuart, and other education resellers. DJ partners include PCDJ and Virtual DJ. BZIC has licensing agreements with Disney, EMI, Sony, Kobolt, Moog, Bling Pig, Harry Fox and others.

The company was restructured in January 2009 to commercialize technology it had previously developed. The year 2009 was dedicated to product refinement, new product development, content development and the establishment of key artist relationships for the Beamz first generation product. Based upon market feedback, the year 2010 and the first half of 2011 was devoted to developing and launching a second generation product, the Beamz Player (model C4), which is currently being sold. In late 2011 and early 2012, as the new partnerships were beginning, new content was launched that enabled users to use their own music, new products offering and bundles were made available, and the Music Appreciation Series and music site were released. With these elements now in place, Beamz Interactive is working to secure financing and to create more awareness of the products and brand.

The company was founded in 2001 and is based in Scottsdale, Arizona.
