CA Technologies Again Named a Component of Dow Jones Sustainability Indexes
Company Continues Mission to Reduce Greenhouse Gas Emissions
ISLANDIA, N.Y.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- CA Technologies (NAS: CA) today announced that it has been named as a component of the Dow Jones Sustainability Indexes (DJSI) World Index and North America Index for the second consecutive year.
Launched in 1999, the DJSI are the first global indexes tracking the financial performance of the leading sustainability-driven companies worldwide. All changes will become effective with the opening of the stock markets on September 24, 2012.
"We are very pleased and honored to once again be recognized as a top sustainability company by the DJSI," said Cynthia Curtis, vice president and chief sustainability officer. "Sustainability is one of the core principals of our company. It is highly visible, encouraged and demonstrated throughout the company—from the board room to the lunch room—and also in our innovation with the software solutions we provide."
Additionally, the company announced that it has markedly improved its grade in the recently released Carbon Disclose Project Report (CDP) with a score of 84/100, a 23.5% gain over prior year. The CDP provides an annual update on greenhouse gas emissions data and climate change strategies at global public corporations. CA Technologies is also now participating in the Environmental Protection Agency's (EPA) ENERGY STAR Low Carbon IT Campaign Project, a nationwide effort to assist and recognize organizations for reducing the energy consumed by computers.
Curtis continued, "We've set ambitious sustainability goals, and are delighted our progress is reflected in our CDP results. We are also pleased to join the ENERGY STAR Low IT Carbon Campaign. This is one of the many initiatives that will help us reduce our greenhouse gas emissions 35% by 2020 from 2006 levels."
Additional information on the progress the company has made in reducing its environmental footprint, providing solutions for customers and partners to monitor and manage corporate sustainability, greening operational processes and efficiencies, and supporting community involvement can be found in the company's latest sustainability report titled "Moving Together."
