"Macy's is delighted to honor influencer, style-maker and music legend Carlos Santana as our Icon of Style in celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month," said Dineen Garcia, Macy's vice president of Diversity Strategies. "Latinos have had an immense impact not only on fashion, but music, food and every aspect of culture and we are proud to honor those contributions as we celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month with great special events in stores across the country."
Carlos Santana commented, "I am so honored Macy's has chosen me as an Icon of Style for 2012. I believe that personal expression is the essence of the human spirit ...and for me that has always been through my music and my style. I am proud to be Latino and I think it comes through in everything I do; every song, every rhythm, the colors, prints and textures in my designs. Muchas gracias, Macy's!"

Worth; San Diego; Atlanta; Chicago; New York City; Orange County, CA; Miami; and the San Francisco Bay area. About Vanidades
Launched in 1961, Vanidades became the first Spanish-language, women's lifestyle magazine in the United States. As a pioneer in the U.S. Hispanic market, Vanidades has accomplished many noteworthy achievements; as it became the first to interview top Latino designers such as Carolina Herrera, Oscar de la Renta, and Narciso Rodriguez. It was also the first to cover international fashion runway shows directly from the runways of Milan, Paris, and New York. The Vanidades woman is a classic yet modern one that is defined by her different roles, a professional, a fashionista, an entertainer or a stay-at-home mom - whatever the role, Vanidades provides compelling editorial that is exciting, trendsetting, and evolving for the Hispanic woman.
About Carlos Santana
For 40 years and as many albums later, Santana has sold more than 90 million records and reached more than 100 million fans at concerts worldwide. To date, Santana has won 10 Grammy® Awards, including a record-tying nine for a single project, 1999's Supernatural (including Album of the Year and Record of the Year for "Smooth"). In 1998, the group was ushered into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, whose web page on their induction notes, "Guitarist Carlos Santana is one of rock's true virtuosos and guiding lights." Among many other honors, Carlos Santana has also been cited by Rolling Stone as No. 15 on their list of the "100 Greatest Guitarists of All Time." His last studio CD, "Guitar Heaven ...The Greatest Guitar Classics of All Time" (Arista), was released in 2010. Celebrating that chart debut, Santana joined the ranks of the Rolling Stones as the only musical act in chart history to score at least one Top 10 album in every decade beginning with the 1960s. This spring, Carlos released "Shape Shifter," his 36th album and the first for his new label, Starfaith Records. He is also currently headlining a two-year residency at House of Blues at Mandalay Bay Resort in Las Vegas.
