MELBOURNE, Fla. & ROCHESTER, N.Y.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Harris Corporation (NYS: HRS) , an international communications and information technology company, has received a $10 million order to supply the Polish Ministry of National Defense with Falcon III® AN/PRC-117G multiband manpack radios and Falcon II® AN/PRC-150(C) high-frequency manpack radios.

The Ministry of National Defense is acquiring the AN/PRC-117G multiband radio to provide communications interoperability with United States, NATO and coalition forces. The AN/PRC-117G delivers combat net radio, tactical satellite and ground-to-air capabilities in a lightweight, versatile platform. The AN/PRC-150(C) provides long-range Type-1 secure beyond-line-of-sight communications to forces operating in challenging environments.

"The AN/PRC-117G is the first and only widely deployed tactical wideband networking solution that offers secure interoperability with United States and NATO Forces,'' said Brendan O'Connell, president, international business unit, Harris RF Communications. "Poland's Ministry of National Defense ordered its first AN/PRC-117G manpack radios late last year, and is now deploying additional radios to expand this interoperable network to more of its deployed personnel.''

The field-proven Falcon III AN/PRC-117G provides warfighters with unprecedented situational awareness through wireless, high-bandwidth communications. The software-defined, upgradeable AN/PRC-117G gives warfighters on the move and field commanders critical real-time information through a man-portable radio that is significantly smaller, lighter, and more capable than legacy units. The radio also provides a seamless transition to wideband networking through the Adaptive Networking Wideband Waveform.

The Falcon II AN/PRC-150(C) is the most advanced military Type-1 HF radio available today, setting the standard for reliable, long-range HF communication on the battlefield. The radio covers the 1.6 MHz to 60 MHz frequency range and comes with a removable keypad/display unit. The AN/PRC-150(C) enables warfighters to stay connected to mission critical information during missions where line-of-sight communications are not an option.
