Cablevision Appoints Sandra P. Kapell Executive Vice President, Human Resources & Administration

BETHPAGE, N.Y.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Cablevision Systems Corporation (NYS: CVC) today announced the appointment of Sandra P. Kapell as executive vice president, human resources and administration, effective immediately. In this newly created position, Ms. Kapell will be responsible for the development and execution of enterprise-wide human resources strategies for the Company. She will report to James L. Dolan, Cablevision president and chief executive officer.

Ms. Kapell will lead the human resources and administrative areas of Cablevision, providing leadership in the design and implementation of policies and practices. Specifically, she will oversee general human resources, talent staffing and recruitment, employee training, development and growth as well as executive compensation and recruiting.

Previously, Ms. Kapell served as senior vice president and chief human resources officer of Chartis, an AIG company and the world's largest property and casualty insurer, where she worked on a number of initiatives for the firm, including the recruitment of several key executives, the implementation of the company's first-ever succession planning process for the board of directors, and the launch of the company's management development curriculum.

Prior to joining Chartis, Ms. Kapell was senior vice president in the practice development group of MetLife for five years, where she oversaw all aspects of leadership development, sales training, financial planning, special needs planning and the advanced markets legal group. Before this, she served in numerous senior human resources roles, including chief operating officer/director of human resources of Westport Resources Investment Services and global head of administration and strategy of Futures International.
