OmniVision Technologies Misses Where it Counts

EPS came in at $0.21. The 11 earnings estimates compiled by S&P Capital IQ predicted $0.22 per share. GAAP EPS of $0.04 for Q1 were 94% lower than the prior-year quarter's $0.68 per share.

For the quarter, gross margin was 19.1%, 1,260 basis points worse than the prior-year quarter. Operating margin was -0.3%, 1,500 basis points worse than the prior-year quarter. Net margin was 0.9%, 1,430 basis points worse than the prior-year quarter.
Next quarter's average estimate for revenue is $373.3 million. On the bottom line, the average EPS estimate is $0.30.
Next year's average estimate for revenue is $1.33 billion. The average EPS estimate is $1.16.
The stock has a five-star rating (out of five) at Motley Fool CAPS, with 849 members out of 894 rating the stock outperform, and 45 members rating it underperform.
