Arcane Empires offers magical steampunk warfare on iOS, Android

The next strategy game from Kabam isn't on Facebook, Kongregate or even Pokki. Arcane Empires, a steampunk-meets-fantasy strategy game from the folks behind Kingdoms of Camelot is available on iOS and Android now for free. This also marks the developer's first game ever released for Android, and its first new original property since Edgeworld on Facebook.

Arcane Empires is set in a steampunk-themed fantasy world that is ravaged by civil war in which players must lead a civilization through building alliances and waging war against their friends and enemies. However, all players have one common foe, a brutal warlord bent on reviving an oppressive imperial regime. Based on these early screens, the play hooks don't look terribly different from Kingdoms of Camelot on iOS.

"Kabam has aggressive plans for strategy games on mobile devices and we're energized by the raw potential of Arcane Empires on Android and iOS," Kabam Game Studios president Andrew Sheppard said in a release, "right on the heels of Kabam's blockbuster hit Kingdoms of Camelot: Battle for the North." Strategy addicts, Kabam has another shot in the arm coming right up.
