ChefVille Cheats & Tips: Earn salt and pepper by visiting friends

As you begin your quest for culinary mastery in ChefVille, you'll very quickly be introduced to dishes that can only be cooked after collecting Salt and Pepper. However, salt and pepper aren't available to purchase in the store, and you don't have any appliance, shed, plant, etc. that can actually produce it. So, how do you earn these spices? Simple - you visit friends!

For visiting your neighbors' restaurants, you'll have a chance of earning both Salt and Pepper, but only one is guaranteed. To be specific, visiting neighbors grants you five bonus energy that can be used to tend plants, stores and other items in your friends' games, and when you spend all five of those energy points, you'll automatically receive a free Salt (so long as your inventory isn't full of them). You'll earn Salt regardless of how many times you've visited your friends in the past, but Pepper is a bit more complicated.

In order to earn Pepper, you'll need to visit your friends at least 3 out of every 7 days (It should be noted that at ChefVille's launch, this required four days of visits, but it appears to have been changed to three across the entire game). Once you hit that third day, you'll receive a free Pepper alongside the free Salt when you visit that particular neighbor. From then on, if you continue to visit that same friend everyday without fail, you'll continue to be a "Regular" at their restaurant and will continue to be eligible for both Salt and Pepper with every visit. If you fail to visit your friends for a few days in a row, you'll need to start all over again to become a Regular and earn your Pepper. Perhaps more than any other game, ChefVille encourages social interactions with your neighbors, as some dishes will simply be impossible to cook without visiting friends, unless you wish to spend Chef Cash to purchase those missing spices.
