Pan American Silver (NAS: PAAS) reported earnings on Aug. 14. Here are the numbers you need to know.

EPS came in at $0.23. The 11 earnings estimates compiled by S&P Capital IQ predicted $0.37 per share. GAAP EPS of $0.23 for Q2 were 78% lower than the prior-year quarter's $1.04 per share.

Margin details
For the quarter, gross margin was 43.2%, 800 basis points worse than the prior-year quarter. Operating margin was 19.5%, 2,630 basis points worse than the prior-year quarter. Net margin was 21.9%, 2,670 basis points worse than the prior-year quarter.

Looking ahead
Next quarter's average estimate for revenue is $260.1 million. On the bottom line, the average EPS estimate is $0.42.

Next year's average estimate for revenue is $1.04 billion. The average EPS estimate is $1.71.
