Chesapeake is settling down and focusing its efforts on reducing its enormous debt load of $13.8 billion. The company has publicly stated it intends to offload $7 billion in assets this quarter to shore up its balance sheet. The second-largest natural gas producer is also looking to deal vast acres in the promising Permian Basin in West Texas. The trick is to find buyers that will offer top prices.
