Cedar Fair (NYS: FUN) reported earnings on Aug. 9. Here are the numbers you need to know.

EPS came in at $0.77. The two earnings estimates compiled by S&P Capital IQ predicted $0.40 per share. GAAP EPS of $0.65 for Q2 were much higher than the prior-year quarter's $0.08 per share.

Margin details
For the quarter, gross margin was 50.0%, 350 basis points better than the prior-year quarter. Operating margin was 24.1%, 570 basis points better than the prior-year quarter. Net margin was 10.2%, 860 basis points better than the prior-year quarter.

Looking ahead
Next quarter's average estimate for revenue is $591.8 million. On the bottom line, the average EPS estimate is $3.25.

Next year's average estimate for revenue is $1.07 billion. The average EPS estimate is $2.32.
