Pioneer Trail Lost Crate: Everything you need to know

Updated

Many Pioneer Trail players can agree that the tree growth and debris spawning systems still need work, as some trees take far too long to grow, or are simply required in far too large of quantities to complete goals. The folks at Zynga have apparently heard those complaints, as a new feature has been launched in the game that will allow you to fully heal any trees that you've chopped into, reverting them to a fully grown adult tree. This feature is available to users that have reached at least Level 24 in the game, but of course, you'll need to put a lot of work into actually unlocking it in your game.

Quite a Package

  • Place Gramps' Lost Crate

  • Tend 25 Adult Goats

  • Harvest 30 Cherry Trees

Rewards: 400 XP, 600 coins, two Lychee Trees

Lychee Trees are a new kind of tree in the game, which is also available to send and receive to/from friends via the game's free gifts page.

Crate Expectations

  • Tend 40 Adult Sheep

  • Collect 10 Prybars

  • Open Gramps' Lost Crate (Phase 1)

The Prybars are earned at random when clearing rocks, while the Lost Crate apparently contains the ability to regrow trees, hence our focus on unlocking it. This first stage (and all others) is completed by collecting or crafting a set of building materials, as has been the case with so many other features in the game. You'll receive 600 XP, a Trunk Tags building ingredient and will unlock the new Red Onion crop for finishing this goal.

Chest Laid Plans

  • Harvest 50 Red Onions

  • Craft 8 Gramps' Scrapbooks

  • Open Steamer Trunk (Phase 2)

Gramps' Scrapbooks are created using Love Letters and Old Tickets, with both of these materials being earned by asking your friends to send them to you. You'll receive 1,000 XP, two Fruit Ready Boosts and a Granny's Locket building material when you complete this goal.

Locks of Love

  • Craft Open Gramps' Safe (Phase 3)

  • Gather 30 Lychee Extract

  • Craft 8 Lumber Tree Serums

The Lumber Tree Serums can only be crafted after the final phase of the Lost Crate is completed (as seen below). After that's done, you can collect Amaranth Herbs, Golden Apple Mash and Lychee Pits to form Lumber Tree Serums. As for the Lychee Extract, this is earned by tending ripe Lychee Trees. You'll receive a fully grown White Oak Tree, a fully grown Willow and a fully grown Pole Pine for completing this final goal in the series, and, again, you'll be able to keep refreshing these trees to their fully grown state if you craft Lumber Tree Serum after this event is over.

Ultimately, these goals might take you quite a bit of time to complete, but at least we can rest a bit easier knowing that long waiting periods for trees like Willows to grow can now be reduced drastically by these Lumber Tree Serums. Would it have been nicer for Zynga to release this Serum without these goals? Probably, but at least this will give the most dedicated of players something else to work on if they're running out of tasks.
