Google honors 2012 Olympics with hurdle game Google Doodle

Updated

In honor of the 2012 London Olympics, Google has launched an athletic hurdle game on its homepage. The game is simple but fun. To make the Olympian run, just tap the left and right arrow keys on your keyboard and press the space bar to jump over the hurdles. At the end, you can post your time and score on Google+ and compete with other players around the world.

The Google homepage is always a good way to find out what popular historical events are being honored that particular day. They have celebrated everything from the likes of JFK's birthday to the anniversary of the first motion picture with a fun, customized version of their classic homepage. This Olympic hurdle game is not the first of Google's gamer-themed logos. Along with a fun Tetris theme, on Pac-man's 30th Anniversary, developers revamped the game with a custom version of the iconic arcade classic in which the whole board is shaped like Google's logo.
