Maybe you're bored with slinging spell cards in Wizard101. Maybe you just finished watching the Pirates of the Caribbean flicks and want a safe, private place to do your best Jack Sparrow. Maybe you're just a fan of KingsIsle Entertainment. Either way, you'll probably to want to sign up for the closed beta test of Pirate101, the studio's anticipated free-to-play kids MMO.

That's right, the closed beta test of Pirate101 is officially under way, and KingsIsle wants you--yes, you--to give it a try before it officially launches later this year. You'll get to command your own pirate (air) ship and embark on swashbuckling adventures before most folks even step foot into this extended world of Wizard101.

"The start of our closed Beta testing marks a massive step forward for Pirate101," KingsIsle VP and creative director J. Todd Coleman said in a release. "Design, art, technology, story-our teams have worked tirelessly to craft this fantastic new online experience for families. I cannot wait for our testers to get in and experience the new world we have created for them."

You heard the man, so what are you waiting for? You can sign up for KingIsle's ongoing closed beta key drawings right here. And we hear game technology company AMD will soon give away closed beta keys of its own.

Are you psyched for Pirate101? What do you think of what you seen/heard about the game so far? Sound off in the comments. Add Comment.
