Blue Nile (NAS: NILE) reported earnings on Aug. 2. Here are the numbers you need to know.

EPS came in at $0.11. The seven earnings estimates compiled by S&P Capital IQ predicted $0.07 per share. GAAP EPS of $0.11 for Q2 were 42% lower than the prior-year quarter's $0.19 per share.

Margin details
For the quarter, gross margin was 18.9%, 240 basis points worse than the prior-year quarter. Operating margin was 2.6%, 270 basis points worse than the prior-year quarter. Net margin was 1.7%, 180 basis points worse than the prior-year quarter.

Looking ahead
Next quarter's average estimate for revenue is $86.7 million. On the bottom line, the average EPS estimate is $0.16.

Next year's average estimate for revenue is $392.4 million. The average EPS estimate is $0.68.
