Cameco Whiffs on Revenues

Cameco reported revenue of $383.3 million. The five analysts polled by S&P Capital IQ looked for revenue of $463.2 million on the same basis. GAAP reported sales were 13% lower than the prior-year quarter's $441.4 million.

EPS came in at $0.09. The 12 earnings estimates compiled by S&P Capital IQ predicted $0.21 per share. GAAP EPS of $0.02 for Q2 were 86% lower than the prior-year quarter's $0.14 per share.

For the quarter, gross margin was 42.2%, 520 basis points better than the prior-year quarter. Operating margin was 9.8%, 260 basis points worse than the prior-year quarter. Net margin was 2.0%, 1,060 basis points worse than the prior-year quarter.
Next quarter's average estimate for revenue is $588.2 million. On the bottom line, the average EPS estimate is $0.29.
Next year's average estimate for revenue is $2.29 billion. The average EPS estimate is $1.14.
The stock has a five-star rating (out of five) at Motley Fool CAPS, with 1,793 members rating the stock outperform, and 41 members rating it underperform.
