Level 3 Communications Meets on Revenues, Misses on EPS
Level 3 Communications (NYS: LVLT) reported earnings on July 25. Here are the numbers you need to know.

EPS came in at -$0.29. The seven earnings estimates compiled by S&P Capital IQ forecast -$0.17 per share. GAAP EPS were -$0.29 for Q2 versus -$1.59 per share for the prior-year quarter.

For the quarter, gross margin was 59.1%, 160 basis points worse than the prior-year quarter. Operating margin was 8.4%, 820 basis points better than the prior-year quarter. Net margin was -3.9%, 1,550 basis points better than the prior-year quarter.
Next quarter's average estimate for revenue is $1.63 billion. On the bottom line, the average EPS estimate is -$0.09.
Next year's average estimate for revenue is $6.47 billion. The average EPS estimate is -$0.73.
The stock has a three-star rating (out of five) at Motley Fool CAPS, with 1,841 members out of 1,971 rating the stock outperform, and 130 members rating it underperform.
