Talk about a home with history! Though Okolona Plantation in Middletown, Del., looks like your typically beautiful Italianate Victorian, it's not just a pretty face. This stunning home was once a 19th century "peach mansion," where the owners grew peaches and sold them on the property. But it now functions as both a certified thoroughbred farm and -- get this -- an airport.

Yup, that's right. The home sits on an FAA-approved airstrip, meaning that you can literally fly in and out whenever you like (assuming you have your own private jet, which is quite possible if you can afford this $1.2 million plantation to begin with). Unfortunately the listing doesn't have a picture of this airstrip, but reportedly the runway is 1,300 feet long and 70 feet wide.

After your aerial jaunt, you can go bareback riding across your immaculate 15 acres of land, which includes five pastures and a 20-by-60-meter dressage area. Very "Gone With the Wind." There's also a three-bedroom guesthouse.

Inside the 5,500-square-foot mansion, built in 1860, you'll find grand, 11-foot-high ceilings, crown molding, dripping crystal chandeliers, fireplaces, gilded mirrors and flowered wallpaper. (We don't think the last one is so appealing). But if you love that whole vibe of Old World affluence, then this home is perfection. If not, then there's always this modern Southern belle of a home in South Carolina.
