SimCity Social Cheats & Tips: Convert your Simoleons and Materials on the fly

If you're already finding yourself struggling to produce enough Materials to sustain your growing city in SimCity Social, allow me to introduce you to the game's conversion function, which gives you as many Materials as you want, so long as you have the Simoleons (otherwise called coins) to create them.

The SimCity Social conversion ability is found within an unassuming little green button in between your coin and Materials bars in the top left corner of the screen, as seen below.

Clicking on this button brings up the following menu. If you're interested in converting coins into Materials, you'll simply drag the slider left and right until you find a nice balance between how many coins you're willing to convert as related to how many Materials you'll receive in the process.

On the other hand, if you want to convert Materials back into coins, you can do the same thing by clicking on the tab within the conversion window (we've marked it below to help you out). The process is the same: just drag the slider until you've reached a balance that works for you, and click on the Convert button to finalize the transaction.

Why would you need to ever convert coins and Materials? The biggest reason comes when purchasing new items in the store, especially those that are required to complete quests. Why spend hours or days earning thousands of Materials the hard way, when you can generate them in a matter of seconds using your excess coins? That sounds like a pretty good deal to me.
