CityVille City Sign: Everything you need to know

Updated

The Hollywood Sign is one of southern California's greatest landmarks, and you can now add one of your very own to your town in CityVille via the release of the City Sign feature. This City Sign can be placed in either your Downtown expansion or in your main city, and its stats will reflect its placement accordingly (that is, you'll receive Downtown Value Points or additional population allowance depending on where you build it).

The City Sign is a lengthy, skinny item that can't be stored, but it can be upgraded. There are five levels to the City Sign in all, and depending on how far you upgrade it, the more you'll be able to customize the sign in the end. That is, the more upgrades you unlock, the more letters or characters you can use when deciding what this City Sign should say. The first upgrade stage requires 18 building materials, with all but six being available to earn by asking your friends to send them to you.

The other items can be earned at random when collecting from "City Sign residences." There are only four City Sign residences available thus far, with two being available for coins: the Blockbuster Manor costs 120,000 coins and the Sunset Chateau costs 40,000 coins. The other two homes, the Paramount Palace and the Mulholland Mansion cost 25 and 40 City Cash each, respectively.

Once you've upgraded the City Sign to the fifth stage, you'll receive a 1 million coins as a prize and, again, will be able to use the most amount of characters possible in customizing your City Sign. You can make it simply say the name of your town, or you can type out a fun phrase, so long as it fits. What will you make your sign say?
