House of the Day: A Role in 'Strangers When We Meet'

This 5,517-square-foot Bel-Air home featured in the Kirk Douglas film "Strangers When We Meet" was, according to its listing, also once home to another of its stars, Kim Novak.

The house, which sits on over 2 acres, was redone by architect Leslie Armstrong. According to Curbed Los Angeles, the house doesn't much resemble the home as it appeared in the movie, but it is still an amazing property. It boasts expansive views through its "walls of glass," and was designed with an open floor plan optimized for entertaining. It features well-lit sitting and entertaining areas, custom built-in storage spaces, exquisite architectural details, and "striking finishes." The kitchen leads into the dining area, and the landscaping creates a seamless indoor-outdoor flow.

The master bedroom takes advantage of the surrounding greenery with even more walls of windows, recessed lighting, pitched ceilings, and access to the rooftop garden. Dual walk-in closets and dressing areas finish out the space, and the master bath has a shower with eight showerheads. We're not sure why anyone would need eight showerheads, but it sure sounds luxurious!

The rest of the property features a pool surrounded by quiet gardens, walking paths and canyon greenery.

Sally Forster Jones of Coldwell Banker has the listing.
