It's nearly time to celebrate the woman who birthed you, endured countless sleepless nights when you were a wee little person on account of those 3 a.m. feedings, and, then somehow, later managed to tolerate your assorted teenage shenanigans.
And this Mother's Day, it appears that U.S. consumers will be showing their appreciation even more than last year -- at least spending-wise: Consumers plan to spend an average $152.52 on Mom, up 8% from 2011, according to a BIGInsight consumer spending survey by The National Retail Federation.
If you're still scratching your head over what to buy Mom, here's a rundown of some of the hot sellers so far this Mother's Day at seven big national chains.

This silk cotton camp shirt (left), $68, has been a Mother's Day hit at Ann Taylor (ANN). It also gets a thumbs up from celeb Kate Hudson, the face of Ann Taylor's spring/summer ad campaign. (Which leads us to wonder: Did she snatch one up for her famous mom Goldie Hawn?)
This floral watercolor scarf (right), $58, has also been a hot seller. And through May 20, 50% of the full-price purchase of the scarf will go to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation.
And, for a little touch of accessorizing pizzazz, shoppers have been flocking to Ann Taylor's Pave Crystalline Bangles (bottom), $28.
At Loft, Ann Taylor's lower-priced sister chain, the eyelet inset skirt (left), $44.50, has been a robust seller in the lead up to Mother's Day.
This crochet shift dress (middle), $98, is another bona fide hit.
And shoppers are scooping up this three-quarter sleeve v-neck cardigan (right) for $44.50.
At jewelry chain Zales (ZLC), a lab-created white sapphire ring with blue accents, $79.99, is a hit with shoppers.
And a three-pair stud earring set (right) with lab-created white and pink sapphires, as well as blue topaz, $99.99, has been selling briskly.
For the mom who likes to cook, there's the Kenmore 14-piece cookware set (right) with silicone stay-cool handles. A Sears (SHLD) exclusive, this popular Mother's Day item retails for $161.99 at the department store chain.
The chain's exclusive Covington flutter sleeve top (left), $19.99, is also a big seller.
Sears' shoppers are also falling in love with this Knots of Love (top), 1/4 cttw diamond and sterling silver heart pendant, $89.99, this Mother's Day.
The rose-gold trend is still going strong: Ann Klein watches in the popular color combination are a Mother's Day hit at Macy's (M). Pictured are nude and metallic-strapped watches for $65 each; a multi-strand model for $125; and a bracelet watch, $150.
In keeping with the season's hottest trend, brightly colored pants from Ralph Lauren's Lauren line, $89.50, are flying off the racks.
Some moms will be pampered with a touch of bling this holiday: Coach sunglasses in brown, for $158, and gold tone, $168, are strong sellers at Macy’s.
Digital cameras have been popular at Target (TGT), including this Canon A2200 14.1 MP, which is available for $139.99 on Target.com.
Some shoppers seem to be betting that mom is eager to join the rising home-canning trend. German made Weck canning jars, from $2.95 to $3.95, have been flying off Crate & Barrel's shelves.
These $8.95 Chickadee plates (left top) -- and platter for $29.95 -- are also popular items at the home furnishings chain.
