Colfax Beats on EPS but GAAP Results Lag

Colfax (NYS: CFX) reported earnings on May 8. Here are the numbers you need to know.

EPS came in at $0.23. The 10 earnings estimates compiled by S&P Capital IQ predicted $0.21 per share. GAAP EPS were -$1.33 for Q1 compared to $0.15 per share for the prior-year quarter.

Margin details
For the quarter, gross margin was 28.8%, 480 basis points worse than the prior-year quarter. Operating margin was 3.3%, 720 basis points worse than the prior-year quarter. Net margin was -11.9%, 1,600 basis points worse than the prior-year quarter.

Next quarter's average estimate for revenue is $1.01 billion. On the bottom line, the average EPS estimate is $0.37.
