For the quarter ended March 30 (Q1), Colfax met expectations on revenues and beat expectations on earnings per share.
Compared to the prior-year quarter, revenue grew significantly and GAAP earnings per share dropped to a loss.

EPS came in at $0.23. The 10 earnings estimates compiled by S&P Capital IQ predicted $0.21 per share. GAAP EPS were -$1.33 for Q1 compared to $0.15 per share for the prior-year quarter.

For the quarter, gross margin was 28.8%, 480 basis points worse than the prior-year quarter. Operating margin was 3.3%, 720 basis points worse than the prior-year quarter. Net margin was -11.9%, 1,600 basis points worse than the prior-year quarter.
Next quarter's average estimate for revenue is $1.01 billion. On the bottom line, the average EPS estimate is $0.37.
Next year's average estimate for revenue is $4.03 billion. The average EPS estimate is $1.55.
The stock has a four-star rating (out of five) at Motley Fool CAPS, with 267 members out of 280 rating the stock outperform, and 13 members rating it underperform.
