Cadence Design Systems (NAS: CDNS) reported earnings on April 25. Here are the numbers you need to know.

Non-GAAP EPS came in at $0.17. The nine earnings estimates compiled by S&P Capital IQ forecast $0.15 per share on the same basis. GAAP EPS of $0.11 for Q1 were 450% higher than the prior-year quarter's $0.02 per share.

Margin details
For the quarter, gross margin was 85.2%, 220 basis points better than the prior-year quarter. Operating margin was 14.3%, 770 basis points better than the prior-year quarter. Net margin was 9.8%, 740 basis points better than the prior-year quarter.

Looking ahead
Next quarter's average estimate for revenue is $313.5 million. On the bottom line, the average EPS estimate is $0.16.

Next year's average estimate for revenue is $1.27 billion. The average EPS estimate is $0.67.
