NextEra Energy (NYS: NEE) reported earnings on April 25. Here are the numbers you need to know.

Non-GAAP EPS came in at $1.02. The 13 earnings estimates compiled by S&P Capital IQ predicted $0.98 per share on the same basis. GAAP EPS of $1.11 for Q1 were 73% higher than the prior-year quarter's $0.64 per share.

Margin details
For the quarter, gross margin was 41.9%, 880 basis points better than the prior-year quarter. Operating margin was 25.0%, 1,130 basis points better than the prior-year quarter. Net margin was 13.7%, 510 basis points better than the prior-year quarter.

Looking ahead
Next quarter's average estimate for revenue is $3.83 billion. On the bottom line, the average EPS estimate is $1.15.
