Non-GAAP EPS came in at $5.03. The five earnings estimates compiled by S&P Capital IQ predicted $3.50 per share on the same basis. GAAP EPS of $4.96 for Q1 were 39% higher than the prior-year quarter's $3.57 per share.

Margin details
For the quarter, gross margin was 30.1%, 240 basis points better than the prior-year quarter. Operating margin was 18.6%, 320 basis points better than the prior-year quarter. Net margin was 11.8%, 200 basis points better than the prior-year quarter.

Looking ahead
Next quarter's average estimate for revenue is $578.5 million. On the bottom line, the average EPS estimate is $4.15.

Next year's average estimate for revenue is $2.24 billion. The average EPS estimate is $15.43.
