General Dynamics Misses on Both Revenue and Earnings

General Dynamics (NYS: GD) reported earnings on April 25. Here are the numbers you need to know.

EPS came in at $1.57. The 21 earnings estimates compiled by S&P Capital IQ predicted $1.69 per share. GAAP EPS of $1.57 for Q1 were 4.3% lower than the prior-year quarter's $1.64 per share.

Margin details
For the quarter, gross margin was 11.3%, 710 basis points worse than the prior-year quarter. Operating margin was 11.3%, 60 basis points worse than the prior-year quarter. Net margin was 7.4%, 50 basis points worse than the prior-year quarter.
