Does Zynga look to pull a FarmVille 2 out of the ground? [Report]

Zynga could soon head toward greener pastures. According to MCV, the monolithic social games maker has a direct sequel to the game that put it on the map: FarmVille 2. The scoop comes from a resume that belongs to Alex Harvey, a copywriter at San Francisco-based advertising agency Isobar, which lists Zynga as a client.

MCV reports that Harvey listed "FarmVille 2" as a successful pitch while working with Zynga, though it looks like Harvey must have edited that delicious nugget of information out, as of this writing. (Hmm, we wonder why...) Based on what's currently found in Harvey's resume, the pitch would have to have happened between January 2011 and February 2012. Of course, Zynga has not confirmed anything regarding a direct FarmVille sequel.

It strikes us a odd that Zynga would plan to release a direct sequel to one of its best-performing games, especially considering its experience with not only Mafia Wars 2, but Pioneer Trail. On the flip side of the same coin, we're sure the simulator's 4.8 million daily farmers have grown tired of tending to an insane five farms. Who knows, maybe Zynga feels the heat from Farming Simulator 2011 on Facebook.
