Pioneer Trail Cowgirl Training: Everything you need to know

Bess is on a mission in Pioneer Trail, as she feels it's time for Little Crow to learn how to be a real cowgirl. You'll help Bess teach Little Crow through a series of goals called "Cowgirl Training," which are now rolling out to users at least Level 18 and higher (note: you must also own a Barn).

There are 10 goals to complete throughout this feature, making it similar to the Tunnel of Love goals released last Valentine's Day. That is, you'll receive specific rewards for completing the first six goals and the second set of six, along with rewards for each individual goal. One goal unlocks each day over the next 10 days, or you can purchase these goals early for Horseshoes. Here's how to finish all ten of them off.

Cowgirl Duds!

  • Collect 20 Linen Vests

  • Ask friends for 10 Cowgirl Boots

  • Sell 7 Adult Brown Cows


Rewards: 100 XP, 100 coins, Cowgirl Spur

Horsing Around

  • Harvest 15 Horseradish

  • Collect 20 Horse Love

  • Ask for 15 Coat Conditioners


The Horse Love can be earned by tending regular brown horses (those that you can't ride). You'll earn 200 XP, 200 coins and three Cowgirl Spurs for completing this goal. These Cowgirl Spurs are contest entries to a new sweepstakes that will be available in the game until May 12. You'll have a chance to win up to $2,500 in cash, or Mystery Crates and Horseshoes, so make sure to collect as many Cowgirl Spurs as possible to have the best chance of winning.


Cowgirl Stew

  • Collect 40 Bulgar What

  • Collect 25 Lamb Cutlets

  • Craft 5 Bowls of Cowgirl Stew


You'll have a chance to earn Lamb Cutlets by simply tending sheep. Meanwhile, the Cowgirl Stew is created using Ripe Corn (harvest corn on your Homestead) and Cowgirl Spice (ask friends). For finishing this goal, you'll receive 300 XP, 300 coins and two Cowgirl Spurs.

Cowgirl Campout

  • Craft 6 Smores

  • Collect 25 Horseradish Flowers

  • Collect 10 Flint Rocks


Flint Rocks drop at random when clearing rocks from your Homestead. You'll earn 400 XP, 400 coins and four Cowgirl Spurs for finishing this goal.

Cowgirl Idol

  • Craft 2 Cowgirl Guitars

  • Collect 25 Squash Udu

  • Ask friends for 15 Guitar Lessons


Rewards: 500 XP, 500 coins, 5 Cowgirl Spurs

At this point, if you have finished all five of the above goals, you'll receive a free unlock of Prickly Pear as a crop you can plant on your Homestead.

Cowgirl Chores

  • Collect 30 Brown Wool

  • Collect 35 Pony Treats

  • Ask friends for 20 Ranch Gloves


The Pony Treats come from harvesting Baby Carrots, which are available to send (and receive) from the game's free gifts page. Meanwhile, the Brown Wool drops at random when tending Mouflon Sheep. You'll receive 600 XP, 600 coins and six Cowgirl Spurs for finishing this goal.

Cactus Thorns

  • Collect 30 Prickly Thorns

  • Collect 30 Cowgirl Courage

  • Craft 5 Cowgirl Reins


As you might have guessed, you'll need to tend Prickly Pears to receive those Prickly Thorns, while Cowgirl Courage comes from tending horses that you can ride. You'll receive 700 XP, 700 coins and eight Cowgirl Spurs for completing this goal.

Cattle Chaos

  • Collect 3 Stable Gate Pins

  • Craft 5 Lassos

  • Tend 30 Cows on Neighbors' Homesteads


The Stable Gate Pins are earned at random when collecting the Daily Bonus from your Barn. You'll earn 800 XP, 800 coins and eight Cowgirl Spurs for finishing this goal.

Cactus Pie

  • Collect 35 Senita Jam

  • Harvest 25 Prickly Pears

  • Ask friends for 25 Tossed Salads


The Senita Jam come from harvesting Senita Cactus, a new crop that can be send and received from the game's free gifts page. You'll earn 900 XP, 900 coins and 10 Cowgirl Spurs via this goal.

Mustang Tamer

  • Collect 35 Fresh Peppermint

  • Collect 30 Rising Crops

  • Craft 2 Custom Saddles


Rewards: 1,000 XP, 1,000 coins, 12 Cowgirl Spurs

After finishing this final goal, if you've also finished the four goals before it, you'll receive an Elegant Mare horse for your Homestead. When everything is said and done in this event, you'll have unlocked three new crops (the Senita Cactus costs Horseshoes if you choose not to earn it as a free gift) and will have earned quite a few chances at massive prizes in the aforementioned sweeptsakes. Just make sure that you complete everything before May 12 so that you'll have a chance to win! Good luck!
