The question is, however, are mobile gamers playing as soon as they wake up or right before bed time? MocoSpace, a social network for mobile games, recently surveyed over 15,000 American mobile game lovers about where they play. Aptly titled "Where U Play?," the survey found that a whopping 96 percent of mobile gamers play at home.

Of course, we pretty much already knew that--based on a study by casual web game provider Miniclip--but MocoSpace opted to dig a little bit deeper. Of that 96 percent of mobile gamers, a surprising 53 percent said that they play while in bed. And, unlike the previous question, respondents were only allowed to choose one answer to this question in the survey.

But really, now we want to know whether they're playing right before or after bed time. (Half of mobile gamers can't be bed-ridden hermits, right?) Of course, the couch came in second place at 41 percent, though markedly less popular than the Sleep Number. Oddly enough, about 25 percent of mobile gamers play while at the gym--talk about multitasking!

Players can't seem to get enough of smartphone games: 52 percent of mobile gamers play for at least an hour daily, while a considerable 32 percent play for over three hours daily. Should Sony, Microsoft and Nintendo be scared? "This report should make every console gaming company nervous," MocoSpace co-founder and CEO Justin Siegel said. "Mobile gaming is not a companion to consoles, but rather it's attacking them on their home turf: the couch, the La-Z-Boy and even the bedroom."

Are you surprised that mobile gamers do most of their at-home gaming while in bed? Where and when do you play games on your smartphone or tablet the most? Sound off in the comments. Add Comment.
