Halfbrick wants Jetpack Joyride everywhere, so it buys Onan Games
For the techies out there, Onan's Mandreel allows games to support iOS, Android, Flash and HTML5 development from one C++ code base. For those that aren't total nerds (like this writer), Mandreel basically allows games to easily exist on iPhones, iPads, Android devices and web browsers all at once, without the developer having to recreate the game for each.
"Onan has created something that is incredibly powerful in such a fast-paced industry," Halfbrick CEO Shainiel Deo said in a release. "It's our goal to maximize reach and bring our games to new fans, and we welcome Onan into the Halfbrick family know that they will help us achieve exactly that."
Halfbrick will now use Onan's technology to bring games like Jetpack Joyride and Fruit Ninja to multiple devices at once.
