Another traditional video game maker is taking a stab at making games for Facebook. Majesco Entertainment, the company behind mainstream hits such as Zumba Fitness and Cooking Mama, announced that it's planning to release its first "internally developed" Facebook game, a cartoony miniature golf game called Mini Putt Park. (Majesco previously partnered with Arkadium to launch Cooking Mama Friends' Cafe on the social network in January 2011).

Mini Putt Park will put your putting skills to the test on pre-made courses against both Facebook friends and virtual 'bosses', as well as allow you to create custom courses that can be shared with pals. As you play, you'll earn rewards and in-game currency, which can be used to buy more items for your handcrafted courses.

As much as this game seems to be sticking to the traditional freemium game on Facebook formula -- play a game, earn virtual coins, buy stuff with virtual coins, buy cooler stuff with real money -- Mini Putt Park certainly sounds like it will fill a void for anyone-can-play sports games on Facebook. Let's see if Mama gives this game two fingers up (see below) when it rolls out in the next few weeks.
