The Game Developers Conference (GDC) in San Francisco isn't jut about game developers standing behind pedestals, divining the future of games. It's about what game creators are best at: making games. To get the creative juices flowing, design company iam8bit has crafted the Super Magnetic Game-o-Matic, a 20 by 8-foot magnetic wall that will, by March 9, have the next great game idea clinging to it.

From March 5 through March 9, anyone attending this year's GDC can grab a single magnetic word tile from a bag filled with carefully chosen nouns, verbs and adjectives (and maybe even participles) and place it on the wall. After the ultimate crowd-sourced game concept is complete, artists from Zynga, Blizzard Entertainment, Doublefine Productions, Insomniac Games and more will sketch the key concept art behind the game using these nifty gadgets.

Every say during the event, the folks at iam8bit will post the results on their blog for all to see. Shortly after the event is over, iam8bit will create a short video depicting 40 hours of community game creation. It sure sounds like a brilliant idea to us. And who knows, maybe this will lead to the next great Facebook or iPhone game. Fingers crossed!
