Only The Sims Social would celebrate 'The Grilled Cheese Festival'

Here's yet another reason you'll wish that you lived in Littlehaven. (You know, aside from the whole not-having-to-do-anything-for-yourself thing.) Playfish announced that the annual Grilled Cheese Festival has begun in The Sims Social. Yeah, we have absolutely no idea what this is either other than an excuse to dole out free items all week long.

Playfish made the announcement on The Sims Social Facebook fan page yesterday, and now the celebrations have begun with the first free item up for grabs from the fan page: a lawn gnome. What that has anything to do with grilled cheese sandwiches, we haven't an idea in the slightest. But what we do know is that it's awesome. However, Playfish had to get this from somewhere.

A simple Google search pulls up numerous grilled cheese-related events in the U.S, like the Tenth Annual Grilled Cheese Invitational in Los Angeles on April 28. But Playfish is based in London, which doesn't seem to have any such event. According to a commenter on The Sims Social forums, eating grilled cheese sandwiches was the lifetime wish of many a Sim in The Sims 2, which seems to check out. Now we know what we're having for lunch.
