Magna International Crushes Earnings Estimates

Magna International (NYS: MGA) reported earnings on Feb. 23. Here are the numbers you need to know.

Non-GAAP EPS came in at $1.46. The 16 earnings estimates compiled by S&P Capital IQ anticipated $1.01 per share on the same basis. GAAP EPS of $1.32 for Q4 were 48% higher than the prior-year quarter's $0.89 per share.

Margin details
For the quarter, gross margin was 11.6%, 10 basis points worse than the prior-year quarter. Operating margin was 3.6%, 20 basis points better than the prior-year quarter. Net margin was 4.3%, 100 basis points better than the prior-year quarter.
