Play the slots for free with DoubleDown Casino on iOS

DoubleDown Casino's five million monthly active users have been given a new way to play this week, taking the popular casino-themed Facebook game to the mobile space, at least where the slot machines are concerned. DoubleDown is now available to download for free on both iPhone and iPad. The app requires that you have a Facebook account to play, as your earnings (or losses) on the mobile game will be transferred back into your Facebook account the next time you play.

To be specific, DoubleDown on iOS only offers a few slot machines to play, rather than the entire casino experience (blackjack, roulette, poker, etc.). However, there are seven different slot machines to choose from, including one themed to the upcoming St. Patrick's Day holiday, each with their own individual jackpots and buy-in amounts.

You can spend real money in the app, purchasing chips to keep playing the slots (with those purchases being handled through iTunes), but of course, if you've already accumulated plenty of chips on Facebook, you'll be able to jump right in and play. Via the game's description on iTunes, there don't look to be any plans to bring the other games of DoubleDown Casino to mobile just yet, but we'll make sure to let you know if your other favorites like blackjack or poker are added in the future.
