Pioneer Trail Get Ready for the Long Haul Timed Goal: Everything you need to know

Updated

A new timed goal has started rolling out to users in the Pioneer Trail this week, with this one being focused pretty heavily on Oxen. Being that it's a timed goal, you can use our guide to prepare for these three tasks, without actually being on the clock, so make sure that you have plenty of adult Oxen on your Homestead before getting started. You'll need to be at least Level 15 to receive this goal in your game, and you'll need to accept it before March 14, or it will expire.

Get Ready for the Long Haul

  • Collect 25 Mini Clay Ox

  • Collect 20 Ox Shoes

  • Craft 20 Corn Chowders

The Mini Clay Ox are earned by tending Adult Oxen, but you're not guaranteed to receive one for each individual Oxen you tend. And since Oxen take quite a bit of time to become hungry after they've been fed, you'll want to have more than 25 individual Oxen to really stand a shot at completing this goal quickly. Furthermore, the Corn Chowder might require quite a bit of time, depending on how often you already grow and tend corn on your Homestead. Each Corn Chowder requires four Corn Kernals and two Ceramic Bowls to craft. You'll need to ask your friends for Ceramic Bowls, so start doing that now to not be so hurt by the game's one-request-per-friend-per-day limit.

You'll have two weeks - 14 full days - to complete this goal once you manually start the timer in your game. If you can finish these three tasks within that time frame, you'll receive 500 XP, 500 coins and a Clay Ox for your Homestead. According to the game's official forums, Zynga expects this goal to take users quite a bit of time to complete, but the difficulty has only been classified as "easy to medium." Whether or not players feel the same way remains to be seen.
