Frontier Communications Beats on EPS but GAAP Results Lag

Frontier Communications (NAS: FTR) reported earnings on Feb. 16. Here are the numbers you need to know.

Non-GAAP EPS came in at $0.07. The 12 earnings estimates compiled by S&P Capital IQ anticipated $0.06 per share on the same basis. GAAP EPS of $0.04 for Q4 were 20% lower than the prior-year quarter's $0.05 per share.

Margin details
For the quarter, gross margin was 90.6%, 2,420 basis points better than the prior-year quarter. Operating margin was 21.3%, 280 basis points better than the prior-year quarter. Net margin was 3.3%, 10 basis points worse than the prior-year quarter.
