Scam Alert: Those two Pokémon games on iPhone are 100 percent fake
The first, Pokémon - Pocket Edition, describes itself as a game in which fans can "play as everyone's favorite Pokemon, Pikachu, around awesome lands" and "hook up with other Trainers and let the fast-paced fun begin." Unfortunately, all it offers is a gallery of images from various Pokémon games on Game Boy likely found via Google. To cover its bases, the $4.99 app offers this disclaimer: "This app has one mode of Gameplay; gallery. This is only a gallery of the Pokemon series."
Next up is Pokémon Yellow, which for $.99 promises that players' "very own Pokémon legend is about to begin!" According to PocketGamer, the app starts with an image and immediately crashes. While the developer has posted an apology on its website that looks like it was made hours ago, the damage has been done. Both apps have received terrible ratings overall yet still exist on the App Store as of this writing.
This is quite the oversight by Apple's notorious approval process, especially considering the fact that it's clear neither game was developed by Game Freak or Pokémon Company nor published by Nintendo. Do yourself a favor and avoid these "games" at all costs.
Have you already downloaded either of these games on the App Store? Do you wish that Pokémon Company and Nintendo would release a Pokémon iPhone game already? Sound off in the comments. Add Comment.
