Outplay's Word Trick makes the move from Facebook to iOS

Updated

Back in December, Outplay Entertainment launched Word Trick on Facebook, a word game that allows you to challenge friends (or strangers) to earning the most points in a Scrabble-style setup, with plenty of bonus point letter tiles adding strategy to the basic expected formula. The Facebook version of the game may only sit at a few thousand monthly active players, but that hasn't stopped Outplay from giving gamers another way to play with friends, as Word Trick has now launched on iTunes, complete with Game Center support.

The game is free to download for either iPad or iPhone, and while that market is arguably full with Zynga's Words with Friends already being massively successful, that hasn't stopped Outplay from showing off what it has.

"With Word Trick, we wanted to enhance the traditional crossword gameplay experience by providing a socially fun, yet challenging, evolution in the genre," said Doug Hare, founder and CEO of Outplay Entertainment Ltd, via a company press release. "The game's Trick Tile feature creates a completely unique gameplay challenge, and players are no longer restricted to multiplier score squares on the board -- they can score big anywhere."

If you're interested in trying out Word Trick on your iPhone or iPad, you can now download the game for free on iTunes.
